The Hive Tyrant is a towering entity of twisted flesh and chitin, exuding an air of malevolence and commanding presence. Its many eyes glimmer with intelligence and malice, while its form is a grotesque combination of insectoid features and pulsing, organic armor, pulsating ominously as if it were alive with the cries of its hive. This monstrosity embodies the will of the Hive Mind, directing swarms of lesser creatures to do its bidding, all while capable of crashing down foes with sheer brute strength and lethal psychic powers.

Appearance

A massive creature with segmented limbs, a ghastly maw filled with razor-sharp teeth, and a carapace reminiscent of both insect and monstrous beast. Its long, clawed appendages end in scything talons, and its limbs are adorned with spines and protrusions that radiate a dark aura.

Actions

Mind Control (Recharge 5-6)

The Hive Tyrant can force a creature within 60 feet to make a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw or become charmed for 1 minute. While charmed, the creature is under the Tyrant’s direct control.

Multiattack

The Hive Tyrant makes three melee attacks or two ranged attacks.

Psychic Scream (Recharge 6)

The Hive Tyrant unleashes a mental attack in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in the area must make a DC 16 Intelligence saving throw, taking 27 (6d8) psychic damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one.

Scything Talons

Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 21 (3d8 + 7) slashing damage.

Venom Cannon

Ranged Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, range 60/180 ft., one target. Hit: 22 (4d8 + 2) piercing damage.
