backstory
Karlach was once a slave-soldier in the Blood War, the eternal battle between demons and devils in the lower planes. She was forcibly recruited and fitted with an infernal engine — a powerful, unstable machine embedded in her body to make her stronger… at the cost of slowly killing her.
Eventually, she escaped Avernus, made her way back to Faerûn, and now seeks to live a life of freedom — one she's never known. However, the engine inside her continues to burn hotter, threatening to consume her.
