Expert
Experts are the best stalkers in the Zone with years of experience and equipment better than most other stalkers. Expert stalkers can belong to any faction, although they appear more often in the Duty, Freedom, and Monolith factions. Experts use heavy armour such as exoskeletons and tend to use rather exclusive weaponry, including the Tunder S14, the RP-74, or the Vintar BC, for example.
Veteran
Veterans are skilled stalkers, better equipped than Experienced but still not as good as Experts, usually equipped with medium to heavy gear, and mid to high tier weaponry.
Professional
Professional stalkers make up a large portion of tthestalkers encountered in the Zone. They are generally found in areas like the Garbage, Agroprom, Red Forest, Dark Valley, Yantar, The area around Jupiter and Army Warehouses. Most Professional stalkers are similar to their lesser Experienced brethren. Their choice of weapons is quite varied but on the higher-end and generally superior to what lower ranking Stalkers use. Experienced
Experienced stalkers make up the bulk of most stalkers encountered in the Zone. They are generally found in areas like the Cordon, Garbage, Agroprom, Rostok, Dark Valley, Wild Territory, and Army Warehouses. Most Experienced stalkers are easily recognizable; their choice of weapons are plentiful and generally fielded by neither Rookies nor higher Veterans. There can be overlap with the Professional rank though.
Rookie
Of the four ranks encountered in the Zone, rookies are the least experienced usually equipped with low-tier weaponry and sub-par armor. Almost every faction in the Zone has rookies and recruit new ones often. Rookies are usually found on the outskirts of the Zone.
