Final Fantasy VII (In Development)

J
Jgius

Gaia from Final Fantasy VII. Previously this world contained only Midgar and all characters and monsters that we met in the original game and in Remake, now with this massive update all the regions of Gaia explorable in Rebirth are coming: Grasslands, Junon Region, Corel Region, Gongaga Region, Cosmo Canyon Region, Nibel Region and Northwood. Consequently, soon will arrive new characters, points of interests and areas to make this world even more alive.

Author's Note: Experience Gaia from Final Fantasy VII (mixing the 97' original game and both Remakes). Because of the city's verticality, this version of Midgar is structured very differently from what you would see in the official games, like how slums were positioned on the sides of the sectors, to create distance between the plates and the underground areas. Big buildings are actually "areas", providing more complexity with their inner structure, for example with "Shinra Building" it was possible to make a complex series of rooms, labs and key areas. In this version of Gaia you can explore pretty much all the major locations that you would find in the original game, in Remake and in Rebirth, adding immaginary versions of locations that were only mentioned and never explored in the official videogames.

Description

Overlooking the lively Kalm Square, The Inn at Kalm is a beloved fixture of the town—welcoming travelers, traders, and locals alike with warm hospitality and timeless charm. Its convenient location and inviting atmosphere make it a natural stop for those passing through or seeking a restful stay. Though the building dates back many years, careful maintenance and tasteful restorations have preserved its historic character without sacrificing comfort.

Appearance

The inn’s entrance opens directly onto Kalm Square, framed by wooden beams and soft, golden lanterns that cast a warm glow in the evening. Upon entering, guests are greeted by a cozy dining hall, where neatly set tables and polished wood furnishings suggest readiness and care. Stone walls and wooden support beams give the space a rustic elegance, while the scent of fresh bread or herbal tea often lingers in the air. Upstairs, the bedrooms are simple but comfortable, each with clean linens, modest decor, and windows overlooking the square or the distant grasslands. A set of exterior stairs leads to the rooftop balcony—a favorite spot for guests to unwind. From here, one can take in a stunning view of Kalm from above, with the Mako reservoir glimmering at the center and the Kalm Tower rising in the distance. The inn’s warm lighting, thoughtful details, and peaceful energy make it feel like a home away from home—a quiet refuge within a changing world.
