Located north of Oliver’s Farm, the Whirlwinds are a pair of old wind turbines—one of the rare sources of energy in the region that doesn’t rely on the planet’s life force. Though not in perfect condition, they still function and stand as a proud symbol of sustainable power for their owner, Mildred. Recently, however, the turbines have broken down, and Mildred is at a loss on how to fix them. She urgently needs a Windmill Gear to get the Whirlwinds running again and offers a generous reward in silver gil to anyone who can help.
The two turbines rise against the open sky, their large, wooden blades weathered and chipped from years of exposure. The metal framework creaks softly in the wind, showing signs of rust and wear but still standing firm. The base of each turbine is surrounded by tall grass and wildflowers, blending nature with the remnants of old technology. Nearby, a small wooden shed houses spare parts and tools, though it’s clear the essential gear needed is missing. The whole scene exudes a quiet, hopeful determination—an old dream of clean energy struggling to stay alive.
