appearance
Sporting scales, a dragonlike head and wings, Pious Denius stands at 6ft tall and weighs in at 100kg.
His entire body is constantly slicked with an uncolored substance, ensuring that he can weasel himself through foxholes, debris and the like.
There is no hint of divinity in Pious's appearance, instead he seems mischievious and untrustworthy.
personality
Pious sees himself as wrongfully accused of extremism and would totally do it again if it were not for the close bond he forged with his deity.
In fact, it is the only thing keeping him in line. Morals are a fleeting thing in many cases.
Being punished and ignoring the lessons in it is one of Pious's strongest features, he thinks.
He wants to "win the race against time" believing that he can accomplish what he is being punished for before he is rendered inert.
backstory
Pious began life as a cloistered scholar having access to almanacs, scholastic works, transcribed foreign findings and firls reports of the local Paladin order. He was never allowed outside until his "path of enlightenment" was complete.
Needless to say, Pious dabbled in degenerate thoughts and extreme views of the world.
He correctly identified Good and Evil to be objective forces in the world while failing to identify any common sense concepts.
Pious Denius went into adulthood with such zeal and furor, believing himself to be objectively right, that the Deity he prayed to began to twist Pious' shape into horrible features as punishment. It became so bad that the very people and communities Pious attempted to uproot and drive out started appearing on his own body.
His skin turned sluggish and sticky, his head unfeeling and draconic, his back sprouted tattered wings of a demon, and so on.
On and on it went until enough punishment was doled out for the wretch to change his ways.
