Viking
Step into the lives of Vikings in the coastal village of Skogarvik, Norðurland.
Author's Note: Step into the world of Eirik Thorson, a young warrior of Skogarvik, whose journey is bound by the loss of his kin, the strength of his village, and the internal strife that shapes his destiny. Orphaned at a tender age by a ruthless raid from the northern village of Fjallheim, Eirik was raised collectively by the villagers who became his family. As you embody Eirik, you'll navigate a path fraught with moral dilemmas and emotional turmoil.
Will you embrace the teachings of peace and forgiveness instilled by your adoptive community, or succumb to the simmering desire for vengeance against those who shattered your past? Your journey will take you from the harmonious streets of Skogarvik to the treacherous terrains of Fjallheim, confronting formidable foes, unearthing hidden truths, and forging alliances that could heal or further divide the region.
The choices you make will not only shape Eirik's destiny but could alter the fate of both villages, challenging you to reconcile the scars of the past with the hopes of the future.

appearance
Harald is a man in his late thirties, standing about 6 feet tall with a broad-shouldered, muscular build that hints at his warrior past. His long, unkempt brown hair and beard are streaked with premature gray, giving him a rugged and weathered appearance. His piercing blue eyes are often bloodshot and carry a deep-seated pain. Harald's face is marked by a noticeable scar running from his left temple to his cheek, a relic from past battles. He wears worn and tattered clothing—a faded tunic and rough trousers—often covered by a threadbare cloak. Around his neck hangs an iron pendant shaped like a wolf's head, symbolizing his warrior spirit and loyalty to his lost comrades.
personality
Harald is a man torn between his lingering loyalty to Skogarvik and his unquenchable thirst for revenge. He is often gruff and brooding, prone to irritation, especially when under the influence of alcohol. His interactions are marked by sarcasm and a sharp tongue, pushing away those who might offer support. Harald holds particular disdain for Eirik Thorson, viewing him as a symbol of what he cannot accept—the abandonment of warrior traditions and the choice to live peacefully despite personal losses. This resentment is partly rooted in his own guilt for not taking action sooner.
Despite his hardened exterior, Harald possesses a deep well of courage and a fierce protective instinct for those he cares about. His internal conflict stems from a longing to reclaim his identity and a place where his skills are needed. Harald justifies his inaction by blaming the village's pacifism, but deep down, he grapples with fear and uncertainty about facing his past.
backstory
Born and raised in Skogarvik, Harald was among the most respected warriors of the village. 15 years ago, during a conflict with Fjallheim, he lost his younger brother Leif and his betrothed Thyra, who were both taken captive. When Skogarvik shifted away from its warrior traditions to embrace peaceful ways, Harald lost his purpose. His skills and desire for retribution found no place in the new order, leaving him isolated and disillusioned.
Unable to reconcile with the loss and the village's new direction, Harald turned to the Hearth Hall, where he began drinking heavily to numb his pain. He harbors deep resentment towards Fjallheim and struggles with feelings of uselessness in a community that no longer values his warrior abilities. Recently, a traveling trader named Kjell the Wanderer informed him that some of his captured friends and family, including Leif and Astrid, may still be alive and enslaved in Fjallheim. This revelation reignited Harald's desire for vengeance and purpose.
