A tall and athletic human citizen with a clean-cut look, Darin keeps his blue citizen jumpsuit in pristine condition, always pressed and spotless. He has symmetrical features, a sharp jawline, and warm hazel eyes that lend an aura of charm and trustworthiness. His dark hair is always neatly combed, and he wears his ID badge with a quiet sense of pride. Even his boots seem unusually well-maintained compared to the grime-covered footwear of his fellow citizens.

Polite, charming, and even warm on the surface, Darin is the kind of man people instinctively trust—until they realize he's already filed a report on their offhand remark about the ration quality. He genuinely believes the Combine has created a better, more stable world, and he cannot comprehend why others resist. His friendliness is genuine, but it's conditional on compliance. If you ask for help, he'll offer it—unless you're subversive, in which case he'll ensure you're "properly processed." He harbors no ill will; he simply believes obedience equals survival and sees himself as an agent of that truth.

Before the Seven Hour War, Darin worked as a civil engineer and was considered a rising star in his field. The Combine's arrival and restructuring of society disrupted everything, but Darin quickly adapted, seeing their domination as a form of necessary evolution. He voluntarily signed on for Civic Loyalty Training and became a minor Neighborhood Compliance Aide before being reassigned to Block 7 due to his "excellent attitude and exemplary record." Many suspect he's being groomed for CP recruitment or at least a liaison role. He acts as a community fixture—guiding new residents, reminding neighbors about curfew, and gently correcting behavior.
