In 2002, Victor found himself at a crossroads. The pain of his magic had become unmanageable, and his family’s legacy was weighing heavily on him. It was during this time that he was approached by Count Dracula, who sought a way to ensure the survival of his vampiric army. Victor agreed to cast a permanent spell of darkness over Midnight City in exchange for greater power and freedom from his curse. The spell succeeded, but Victor died in the process. Dracula revived him, altering his body and granting him new powers, but the pain of his magic remained. Now known as the Midnight Magician, he serves as Dracula’s right-hand ally, with hidden motivations of his own.
