Beneath the cracked ridges of the Fire-Earth border lies the Tunnelfront—an ever-expanding network of siege tunnels and subterranean warpaths. Here, Iwa’s earth-release specialists burrow steadily toward enemy lands, collapsing caverns behind them to prevent pursuit. The air is thick with dust, torches burn blue, and shinobi fight blind in the dark. Sometimes the ground trembles as entire squadrons are swallowed by failed cave-ins—or worse, by something they unearthed.

The tunnels are dark and claustrophobic, with walls that shimmer with moisture and are lined with glowing blue torches. The ground is uneven, and the air is filled with the sound of distant rumbling and the occasional echo of combat.
