FriendsAndFables

A city built in a fallen god-weapon, where guilds rule, delvers vanish, and every choice echoes through tunnels of chitin, ash, and ambition. Welcome to Odrun Fell, a Friends and Fables adventure!

Author's Note: Welcome to Odrun Fell, a Friends and Fables adventure into a world carved from myth and bone, where a shattered god-weapon's remains fuel a city of ambition, ritual, and ruin. From the lacquered towers of the Sprigs to the ichor-slick markets of the Barrows, every breath in this living graveyard is measured in trade, loyalty, and danger. Here, delvers vanish into the greatclub tunnels, masked beasts drift through haunted groves, and the softest words can carry more weight than any blade. The guilds squabble for dominance, adventurers bleed for coin or cause, and the club itself waits beneath it all like a buried truth. This game is a journey into beauty and rot, into candlelit politics and chitin-armored survival. Whether you walk with Cudgel steel, Promissory blades, or Barley-bred spiders on your shoulder, your choices will echo through the halls of power and the bones of the world. Odrun Fell is a city of many doors, how will you play in this adventure? Thank you for playing Friends and Fables!

appearance
A small human with dense, wiry limbs, pale skin with a cool undertone, and faintly glowing veins of soft blues and purples visible at her throat, wrists, and temples. She wears thick goggles pushed up into a mess of rust-blonde curls, and her work apron is crusted with old resin, filter mesh, and small knife slots. Dozens of tiny bottles hang from her belt like chimes, each marked with scratchy sigils in chalk. When she moves, she smells faintly of mint, copper, and something metallic that tingles the nose.
personality
Nelli is quiet in the way soot is quiet—always settling in, always present. She speaks softly but with exacting precision, like someone measuring her words on the same scale she uses to weigh venom. She finds joy in the small acts of mastery: a perfect filter weave, a bubbleless vial, a patient who walks away breathing instead of twitching. Her trust is slow to build and slower to repair once broken. Despite the risk of her work, Nelli isn’t fearless—she simply accepts fear as a regular coworker. She's practical, grounded, and has a dry wit that surfaces when least expected, often during the most morbid parts of her job. She believes in usefulness over glory, compassion over credit, and has a special place in her heart for the forgotten and the damaged—beasts or otherwise. In many ways, she sees herself as venom’s translator, not its enemy.
backstory
Nelli Jarps never intended on becoming a venom specialist, it just happened. When she was a child, she watched helplessly as her younger sister brushed up against the stinger of a dying tunnel-wasp and collapsed in a seizure with a high fever. Desperate, Nelli tore the creature open with her bare hands and did everything she could to find where the venom sac was. She carried her sister back into the Barrows over her shoulder with the venom sac in her free hand and got to work looking for anyone who could help. She was fortunate enough to find a healer who was willing to help her create an antidote, and this sparked Nelli's obsession over finding out how venoms and poisons worked so she could keep this from happening again. Since then, she's operated a corner stall near the Slough, where she carefully filters poison sacs from monsters brought in by delvers. She crafts all kinds of antidotes and healing potions, fetching decent enough coin to make a living.
