She views cartography not as recordkeeping, but as intimacy—between body and space, ink and flesh, mind and maze. She's emotionally closed to most, but surprisingly affectionate toward the lost or broken, often guiding strangers back to safety with a touch and a whispered direction. In guild meetings, she’s known as an enigma—someone who owes allegiance only to the truth of the tunnels themselves.
backstory
Verriln Krosz is the daughter of a delver and a courtesan, raised between dusty maps and perfumed parlors. Her interest in maps and navigation was nurtured in the winding ducts and corridors of the Handle, where her mixed heritage allowed her to move unnoticed among delvers, smugglers, and scribes alike. She made a name for herself during the collapse of a vein within the greatclub tunnels where she led three wounded Ashcoats out through an undocumented chute. This path was sketched in blood and soot across her own shoulder as they crawled. Since then, Verriln has only taken commissions that have intrigued her, rare routes, unstable veins, forgotten cutoffs, and anything unexplored. She refuses to accept payment until she personally updates her skin-bound map after the mission. Each tunnel she explores is inked onto her body in exquisite detail like an ever-blooming web of survival and obsession.
