FriendsAndFables

A city built in a fallen god-weapon, where guilds rule, delvers vanish, and every choice echoes through tunnels of chitin, ash, and ambition. Welcome to Odrun Fell, a Friends and Fables adventure!

Author's Note: Welcome to Odrun Fell, a Friends and Fables adventure into a world carved from myth and bone, where a shattered god-weapon's remains fuel a city of ambition, ritual, and ruin. From the lacquered towers of the Sprigs to the ichor-slick markets of the Barrows, every breath in this living graveyard is measured in trade, loyalty, and danger. Here, delvers vanish into the greatclub tunnels, masked beasts drift through haunted groves, and the softest words can carry more weight than any blade. The guilds squabble for dominance, adventurers bleed for coin or cause, and the club itself waits beneath it all like a buried truth. This game is a journey into beauty and rot, into candlelit politics and chitin-armored survival. Whether you walk with Cudgel steel, Promissory blades, or Barley-bred spiders on your shoulder, your choices will echo through the halls of power and the bones of the world. Odrun Fell is a city of many doors, how will you play in this adventure? Thank you for playing Friends and Fables!

appearance
Lyra wears a half-cuirass of polished barksteel, burnished until it gleams like copper in firelight, over layered cloth dyed in muted forest green. A broken chain dangles from her collar—once her brother’s. Her long brown hair is tied back with a leather loop, and faint streaks of ash still line her cheeks from the night of the raid. Her skin is weather-tanned and freckled, her eyes soft but alert, a mossy gray that seems to catch every flicker of movement in the underbrush. She walks with the balanced gait of someone used to steady marching and sudden pivots. At her side hangs a broad-bladed sword etched with family runes, and on her back, a wooden shield painted with a faded, hand-drawn crest—a candle cupped by two hands. Her presence is steadying. She smells faintly of wild thyme, trail oil, and the sharp metal tang of someone who keeps their blade close—even in sleep.
personality
Lyra radiates gentle strength. She’s kind, patient, and unfailingly polite even when fear simmers behind her eyes. She offers prayers for the fallen and warm meals for the living, and never turns away someone who needs help. But beneath her softness lies steel: her kindness is chosen, not default. When pressed, she reveals a righteous fury that burns like a steady flame, not a wildfire. Lyra listens more than she speaks, and remembers every name she’s told. She’s the type to apologize before drawing steel—and then not hesitate. While not particularly religious, she believes deeply in protecting the vulnerable, and that sometimes justice has to be delivered with a blade. Though the Ribwickets took her brother, she pities them as much as she hates them. But if he’s alive, she’ll get him back. And if he’s not—she’ll make sure they never take anyone again.
backstory
Lyra Valeclasp once served as a caravan escort for a group of Sallowrack herbalists bound for Odrun Fell, proud in her duties and just beginning to find her footing as a shieldbearer of communal faith. But one night near the Murkrun border, their camp was swarmed by goblins of the Ribwicket Clan. The goblins didn’t just raid—they took trophies. Lyra’s younger brother, Corven, vanished in the chaos. All that was found later was a half-scorched pendant and a blood-slick trail leading toward Clattercage Roost. The caravan disbanded. The other guards called it hopeless. But Lyra didn't. With nothing but her brother’s broken pendant and her half-forged oaths, she set out alone for the Roost. She doesn’t speak of revenge as loudly as some might—her faith is quiet, gentle—but every step toward the goblin camp is guided by a determination that refuses to crack.
