FriendsAndFables

A city built in a fallen god-weapon, where guilds rule, delvers vanish, and every choice echoes through tunnels of chitin, ash, and ambition. Welcome to Odrun Fell, a Friends and Fables adventure!

Author's Note: Welcome to Odrun Fell, a Friends and Fables adventure into a world carved from myth and bone, where a shattered god-weapon's remains fuel a city of ambition, ritual, and ruin. From the lacquered towers of the Sprigs to the ichor-slick markets of the Barrows, every breath in this living graveyard is measured in trade, loyalty, and danger. Here, delvers vanish into the greatclub tunnels, masked beasts drift through haunted groves, and the softest words can carry more weight than any blade. The guilds squabble for dominance, adventurers bleed for coin or cause, and the club itself waits beneath it all like a buried truth. This game is a journey into beauty and rot, into candlelit politics and chitin-armored survival. Whether you walk with Cudgel steel, Promissory blades, or Barley-bred spiders on your shoulder, your choices will echo through the halls of power and the bones of the world. Odrun Fell is a city of many doors, how will you play in this adventure? Thank you for playing Friends and Fables!

appearance
A tall Dragonborn Fighter with burnished brass scales etched with faint chitin-scratch scars. His molten amber eyes are pupil-less and penetrating, set deep beneath a heavy brow. He wears matte-black beetleplate armor lined with crimson threading, reinforced at the joints with ash-cured leather. The sigil of the Cudgel is carved into his chestplate, with a line of names—comrades lost—etched along the rim of his shoulder pauldron. He carries a greatsword carved from fused mandibles and embedded with copper veins, and the scent of singed paper and scorched oil lingers around him. Rhask moves with deliberate purpose, like a siege weapon waiting for reason to be unleashed.
personality
Rhask speaks rarely, but with the weight of someone who means every word. He embodies discipline without cruelty, patience without softness. Though feared by smugglers and idolized by fresh Cudgel recruits, Rhask treats everyone with the same measured respect—until they prove they don’t deserve it. He believes in structure, in the clarity of orders, and in the need for personal restraint. Still, he’s not cold. Rhask remembers names, honors the fallen with daily ritual, and ensures his guards rest and eat, even if he does not. He has no time for political posturing and loathes the Promissory’s ledgers, but he tolerates them for the sake of the city's function. To his squad, Rhask is something between commander and father—unshakeable, fair, and sometimes terrifying. To delvers and wanderers, he is the Gate of Tines made flesh: unyielding until trust is earned.
backstory
Rhask Emberline has stood at the Gate of Tines longer than most of its stonework. A veteran of over forty tunnel rotations and two full-scale breach conflicts, Rhask earned his command the hard way—by surviving. Originally stationed in the Handle as a tunnel spearman, he was promoted after leading a defensive hold against a chitter-burst swarm with only seven rookies and a single torch. Rhask was transferred to the Gate to oversee its militarized restructuring under Captain Orin Vellak’s command. Since then, he’s turned the Gate into a machine of efficiency and steel-eyed vigilance. Rhask lives by a strict code to protect the city, respect the burden, and never raise a blade unless it will finish what it starts. He's become a symbol of reliability and wrath, a gatekeeper not just of walls, but of intent. If you’re bluffing, lying, or hiding rot in your caravan, Rhask already knows.
