Fantasy
A city built in a fallen god-weapon, where guilds rule, delvers vanish, and every choice echoes through tunnels of chitin, ash, and ambition. Welcome to Odrun Fell, a Friends and Fables adventure!
Author's Note: Welcome to Odrun Fell, a Friends and Fables adventure into a world carved from myth and bone, where a shattered god-weapon's remains fuel a city of ambition, ritual, and ruin. From the lacquered towers of the Sprigs to the ichor-slick markets of the Barrows, every breath in this living graveyard is measured in trade, loyalty, and danger. Here, delvers vanish into the greatclub tunnels, masked beasts drift through haunted groves, and the softest words can carry more weight than any blade. The guilds squabble for dominance, adventurers bleed for coin or cause, and the club itself waits beneath it all like a buried truth.
This game is a journey into beauty and rot, into candlelit politics and chitin-armored survival. Whether you walk with Cudgel steel, Promissory blades, or Barley-bred spiders on your shoulder, your choices will echo through the halls of power and the bones of the world. Odrun Fell is a city of many doors, how will you play in this adventure?

appearance
A young human ranger with sun-tanned skin, wind-swept black hair, and dark, attentive eyes. He wears layered, worn leathers reinforced with beetle-scale plates, dyed a faded moss green with streaks of dull amber. A stitched cloak hangs loose from his shoulders, riddled with old insect holes that he’s patched with resin mesh. A leather harness across his chest holds field tools, and his belt is cluttered with glass vials, gland-snips, and a Promissory-sealed ledger for unique finds. His scent is a mix of tannin, blood-metal, and firefly oil. Despite the grime, he carries himself with a casual grace, never hurried, never slouched.
personality
Riven carries himself with disarming warmth and easy charm. He greets blood-soaked butchers and weathered Cudgel veterans with the same respect he offers high-sashed Promissory buyers. Beneath that friendliness, though, is a sharp eye and a survivor’s pragmatism. He trusts slowly but forgives easily, believing that most people—especially in Odrun Fell—are just trying to stay afloat. He speaks simply, often with a quiet confidence that draws others in. His humor is dry but never cruel, and he’s known for easing tense negotiations or standoffs with an unexpected joke or a cleverly offered trade. Loyal to a fault, Riven’s only outbursts come when someone endangers the Hall or the workers within it. While he avoids politics, he has no love for the guilds' manipulations, and if pressed, he’ll admit he’d back Orin Vellak for Regent if only because "he never forgot who built this city with their hands."
backstory
Riven Thatchmere grew up in the refuse smoke and clatter of Gnarlgut Hall, raised by his aunt Lenna, a retired Cudgel delver who lost her leg and most of her coin in the tunnels. With no guild name to protect them, Riven learned early how to smile through hardship and earn his place through labor. He started off cleaning blood trays and bone bins, but by fifteen was helping field-strip tunnel husks for resin sacs and claw-sheaths. He trained under old cutters who taught him the angles of every known insect weak point. Though many urged him to join the Cudgel, Riven never enlisted, preferring the freedom to delve on his own terms and return what he earned to the Hall that raised him. Most days, he hunts in pairs or small crews, returning with rare scent glands and thorax casings he sells to Promissory buyers before the guilds can mark them up. He’s built a reputation not as the strongest, but as the one who never leaves anyone behind.
