Fantasy
A city built in a fallen god-weapon, where guilds rule, delvers vanish, and every choice echoes through tunnels of chitin, ash, and ambition. Welcome to Odrun Fell, a Friends and Fables adventure!
Author's Note: Welcome to Odrun Fell, a Friends and Fables adventure into a world carved from myth and bone, where a shattered god-weapon's remains fuel a city of ambition, ritual, and ruin. From the lacquered towers of the Sprigs to the ichor-slick markets of the Barrows, every breath in this living graveyard is measured in trade, loyalty, and danger. Here, delvers vanish into the greatclub tunnels, masked beasts drift through haunted groves, and the softest words can carry more weight than any blade. The guilds squabble for dominance, adventurers bleed for coin or cause, and the club itself waits beneath it all like a buried truth.
This game is a journey into beauty and rot, into candlelit politics and chitin-armored survival. Whether you walk with Cudgel steel, Promissory blades, or Barley-bred spiders on your shoulder, your choices will echo through the halls of power and the bones of the world. Odrun Fell is a city of many doors, how will you play in this adventure?

appearance
A weathered human druid with sallow skin and faintly red-stained lips from hem-algae dust. He is wiry and long-limbed, dressed in layered water-wicking robes bleached pale by years of sediment and sun, fringed with barnacle charms and copper-tied braids of riverweed. A polished reed-rake is slung across his back, and a crescent scar splits one eyebrow. His voice is raspy, reminiscent of moldy bark, and he carries the scent of crushed kelp and iron broth. His arms are wiry with muscle, and he stands half-crouched, as if bracing against an unseen current. A carved beetle-shell pendant hangs at his neck, and his fingers are stained violet from herb tinctures.
personality
Thennel is slow-speaking, deliberate, and steady—like the flow he serves. He believes everything in life, like water, should be filtered before acted upon: rage, grief, even joy. He offers wisdom in parable-like snippets, often invoking river metaphors that seem shallow until hours later. Though not formally spiritual, he treats his work like priesthood, and speaks of the Veinspring as if it has moods. He's skeptical of the Promissory and mistrusts rapid change—especially any push to mechanize skimming or alter traditional strain cycles. He values labor over title and has no patience for those who chase promotion instead of purpose. Among apprentices, he is gentle but firm, preferring to demonstrate rather than instruct. Thennel rarely leaves the Weirs, but when he does, he carries himself like a branch loosed from its roots—cautious, misplaced, and eager to return to the current he knows.
backstory
Thennel Reedcut was born in the Barrows beneath the stench of runoff and the lull of algae-choked currents. His mother was a chitin-weaver, his father a netmender at the Hemlock Weirs. Thennel joined the Barleys young, apprenticed under old Crost Vinn, the algae-reader who taught him how to taste sediment for purity and hear sickness in the river’s flow. When Crost died coughing red foam from a ruptured Spindle pipe burst, Thennel took up the old man’s reed-rake and never left. He’s now one of the few trusted with choosing which algae strains are skimmed and which are left to bloom, a sacred task in Barley tradition. Though not high-ranked, he’s revered among apprentices for his instincts, often consulted before major harvests. He refuses relocation to safer work in the Sprigs, insisting he won’t abandon the weirs.
