Arvael Darkspire was once a tracker for a lost elven expedition that dared to traverse the icy wastes of Whisperfell. The party fell victim to a deadly blizzard and the predation of frost ghouls. Arvael was the only survivor, narrowly escaping the frostbound horrors by taking shelter in the ruins of Frostspire Bastion. Now, years later, he remains at the Bastion, bound by guilt and a sense of duty to defend its crumbling walls from the horrors that claimed his kin, becoming both its warden and its ghost.
