Its subterranean cells are damp, dark, and reinforced with heavy iron bars, while the upper levels contain administrative offices and a barracks for the Legionnaires stationed there. Stories of escapes are rare, and the prison is infamous for its isolation—both physical and emotional—for those confined within its walls.
