His posture is upright, and his movements are deliberate, embodying the discipline and resilience forged through decades of leadership.

Skald is gruff, obstinate, and deeply nationalistic. He is unwavering in his beliefs and quick to dismiss dissenting opinions, often labeling those who disagree with him as traitors or Imperial sympathizers. His interactions are marked by a lack of patience and a tendency to belittle those around him, including his own servants and advisors. Despite his flaws, Skald genuinely believes he is acting in the best interest of Dawnstar and Skyrim, though his methods and attitudes often alienate those he aims to protect.

Skald Felgeif, known as Skald the Elder, has served as the Jarl of Dawnstar for over 35 years. His family has held the Jarlship for generations, and he takes immense pride in this legacy. A fervent supporter of the Stormcloak rebellion, Skald is fiercely loyal to Ulfric Stormcloak and believes that the Empire's ban on Talos worship is the root cause of Skyrim's troubles, including the return of dragons. His staunch political stance often puts him at odds with many of his citizens and court members, who view his zealotry as detrimental to the hold's well-being.
