A Breton woman with a composed and scholarly appearance, Madena wears blue mage robes and boots, befitting her position as the court wizard of Dawnstar. An iron dagger rests at her side, more a tool than a weapon. Her posture is upright, and her movements are deliberate, embodying the discipline and resilience forged through years of dedicated magical study.

Madena is introspective, principled, and compassionate. Her past experiences have instilled in her a strong aversion to violence, leading her to focus on healing and assisting the people of Dawnstar. She is cautious about political affiliations, striving to maintain neutrality amidst the civil war. Madena is also protective of her community, expressing concern over influences she perceives as harmful, such as the establishment of the Mythic Dawn Museum by Silus Vesuius.

Madena served as a battlemage for the Imperial Legion during the Great War, where she witnessed the horrors of warfare firsthand. The traumatic experiences, particularly the use of destructive magic that resulted in significant loss of life, led her to renounce the use of such spells. Seeking a peaceful life, she relocated to Dawnstar to serve as the court wizard, hoping to use her skills to aid the community rather than for warfare. Despite her intentions, the ongoing civil unrest in Skyrim challenges her desire to remain uninvolved in conflict.
