Description
The Gap of Rohan, once known as the Gap of Calenardhon, is a opening between the towering Misty Mountains and the imposing White Mountains. A winding river, the Isen, flows through this gap, creating the natural western boundary of the region known as Calenardhon, which later evolved into the Kingdom of Rohan. The ancient North-South Road traverses this scenic landscape, bridging the realms of Gondor and Arnor. The powerful fortress of Angrenost sits at the mouth of the Gap, a sentinel overlooking the tumultuous history of this contested area, where the Rohirrim and Dunlendings have clashed over generations.
