backstory
Bilbo Baggins was born in 2890 of the Third Age to Bungo Baggins and Belladonna Took, in the Shire. He grew up at Bag End, a comfortable and well-known hobbit home in Hobbiton, and led a quiet, unadventurous life. His comfortable existence was disrupted when, he was unexpectedly recruited by the wizard Gandalf and a group of dwarves led by Thorin Oakenshield to join their quest to reclaim Erebor from the dragon Smaug. This adventure, saw Bilbo grow from a reluctant adventurer to a key player in a larger story, encountering trolls, elves, goblins, and even finding the One Ring. After returning, Bilbo lived for many years as a wealthy, eccentric hobbit, becoming a figure of legend. 17 years ago, he prepared to leave the Shire once more, passing the Ring and the responsibility of the quest onto his nephew, Frodo. His latest journey lead him to Rivendell, where he now resides.
If Frodo arrives in Rivendell, Bilbo will give him his Mithril Coat and Sting.
