Description

The Excavolt is the final evolution of Roddig, a small, dark beast that thrives in subterranean environments. It uses its unique ability, Chewing Resonance, to destabilize the earth and create intricate tunnel systems, often forming clusters known as 'rat kings' for protection and efficiency in excavation.

Chewing Resonance (Recharge 5-6)

The Excavolt rapidly gnaws on a metal object within 5 feet. The ground in a 15-foot radius centered on the Excavolt becomes difficult terrain until the start of its next turn. Creatures in the area must succeed on a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw or be knocked prone by the destabilized earth.

Claws

Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) slashing damage.

Excavolt King

If 3 or more Excavolts are within 5 feet of each other, they can use their action to tangle tails, forming an Excavolt King. While in this form, they act on a shared initiative, have a combined HP pool, AC 15, and their burrow speed increases to 40 ft. They can make one Multiattack per contributing Excavolt on their turn. The King disbands if it takes more than half its combined Max HP in damage in a single round, or voluntarily as an action.

Multiattack

The Excavolt makes two attacks: one with its Bite and one with its Claws.
