What was once a single city has now expanded to most of Faerun in this High Fantasy adventure of magic, technology, and secrets to uncover!

Now expanded and reimagined for deeper exploration and immersive play. Waterdeep: The City of Splendors is your main gateway to the other famous Sword Coast locations like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, the Moonsea Region, and even the distant reaches of the Outer Planes. While Waterdeep remains the heart of the experience, its surrounding territories are available for those bold enough to venture beyond the city walls. This adaptation builds upon official Forgotten Realms lore, but introduces both minor and major changes to support a more engaging and open-ended campaign. For example, the characters from Baldur’s Gate 3 are playable, but have been recontextualized to exist in Waterdeep rather than Baldur’s Gate. Content is designed for compatibility with Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, Dungeon of the Mad Mage, and a host of original plot hooks waiting to be uncovered across the city’s alleys, taverns, towers, and catacombs. You’re free to explore at your own pace, shape the world as you see fit, or lose yourself in the layered politics, mysteries, and magic of the world. Description

The Palace of Waterdeep, also known as the Lords' Palace, serves as the residence of the Open Lord, currently Laeral Silverhand. Inside, a spacious chapel dedicated to Ao features oaken pews and walls adorned with gold and silver, illuminated by jeweled chandeliers. The centerpiece is a stunning stained glass window depicting the Eye of Ao, casting a watchful gaze over visitors. The palace also houses a deep well in its dungeons, sealed with enchanted doors and a dire warning. Functioning as the administrative heart of Waterdeep, it hosts hand picked City Watch and Guard who double as Harper agents for the Open Lord, along with embassies for foreign dignitaries. The palace's intricate Lantanese clock, 'Timehands,' marks the hours with its twin bells, echoing through the marble halls.

Appearance

White marble walls climb to gold-trimmed spires, where banners snap in the sea breeze. Timehands gleams atop the central tower, its brass dials ticking above the court below. Ornate balconies overlook gardens and tiled courtyards patrolled by cloaked guards. Colored light spills from the Eye of Ao’s stained glass, painting the chapel in shifting hues. Interior corridors echo with boots and bells, while the palace's stone glows faintly beneath the sun.
