Now expanded and reimagined for deeper exploration and immersive play. Waterdeep: The City of Splendors is your main gateway to the other famous Sword Coast locations like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, the Moonsea Region, and even the distant reaches of the Outer Planes. While Waterdeep remains the heart of the experience, its surrounding territories are available for those bold enough to venture beyond the city walls. This adaptation builds upon official Forgotten Realms lore, but introduces both minor and major changes to support a more engaging and open-ended campaign. For example, the characters from Baldur’s Gate 3 are playable, but have been recontextualized to exist in Waterdeep rather than Baldur’s Gate. Content is designed for compatibility with Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, Dungeon of the Mad Mage, and a host of original plot hooks waiting to be uncovered across the city’s alleys, taverns, towers, and catacombs. You’re free to explore at your own pace, shape the world as you see fit, or lose yourself in the layered politics, mysteries, and magic of the world. Description

Trollskull Manor is an old, dilapidated inn looms in a shadowy alley of Waterdeep, its once vibrant tavern atmosphere now replaced by an eerie silence. Following a devastating fireball incident that claimed the lives of its owner, Lif, and several patrons, the inn stands abandoned, its walls echoing with whispers of the past. Volothamp Geddarm acquired the property for his research on spirits, but the inn remains untouched, haunted by Lif's restless poltergeist. The air is thick with a sense of loss, and the flickering shadows hint at the tragic events that unfolded within its walls, making it a somber reminder of the dangers that lurk in the city.

Appearance

The inn features crumbling stone walls, shattered windows, and a sagging roof, with remnants of furniture strewn about, creating a ghostly atmosphere.
