appearance
A tall, imposing figure clad in ornate Mechanicus robes, Arch-Magos Castellar has a cybernetic arm adorned with intricate machinery and glowing runes. His face is partially obscured by a mechanical mask, with one eye replaced by a glowing lens that reflects his analytical mind. His hair is a tangled mass of silver, and he carries a staff topped with a cogitator, symbolizing his authority. The air around him hums with the faint sound of machinery, a testament to his connection with the Omnissiah.
personality
Castellar is a visionary, driven by a desire to expand the reach of the Mechanicus and explore the unknown. He is pragmatic, often prioritizing his goals over tradition, which has earned him both followers and enemies. His fixation on the Explorator fleets has made him somewhat aloof, as he becomes increasingly absorbed in his plans. While he is respected for his intellect and leadership, his willingness to embrace change has alienated many within the Covenant, leading to a growing rift between him and the more conservative factions.
backstory
Arch-Magos Castellar, the High Fabricator of the Lathes, has long been a figure of authority within the Mechanicus, overseeing the intricate workings of Lathe-Het. His recent shift in focus towards the Explorator fleets has raised eyebrows among his peers, as he diverts resources away from traditional manufacturing to support his ambitions. This decision has led to a chaotic power struggle within the Covenant, with various factions vying for influence in the absence of his once-absolute control. Rumors swirl that he harbors sympathies for the Thulian cause, further complicating his already tenuous position. As the fabric of the Lathes System begins to fray, Castellar remains steadfast in his vision, even as dissent grows around him.
