The Badlands, a desolate expanse in southern Khaz Modan, lie between the scorched Searing Gorge to the west and the highlands of Loch Modan to the north. This arid land of cracked earth and jagged canyons is contested by Dark Iron dwarves, ogres of the Dustbelcher tribe, and remnants of the Old Horde. Amidst the chaos, Ironforge prospectors scour the land for Titan relics near the ancient ruin of Uldaman — a vault of secrets tied to the dwarves' mysterious origins. Feral beasts roam freely, while black dragonspawn stir in the eastern reaches. The orcish presence, weakened since the fall of the Horde in the Second War, has been bolstered by new aid from Orgrimmar. A strategic mountain pass carved to the west reawakened the Dark Irons, unleashing further conflict. Ruins of the earthen still stand in the north, while whispers speak of a buried troll temple marked by serpent-headed idols, eerily reminiscent of those in the Hinterlands.
The Badlands are a cracked desert of dry earth, scattered boulders, and winding canyons. This desolate wasteland is cracked and dry, consisting mostly of flat stretches of land enclosed by the surrounding mountains. A few hills dot the landscape, and the eastern part of the zone is a large canyon full of black dragons.
