Lordamere Lake is one of the largest freshwater lakes in the Eastern Kingdoms, rivaled only by Darrowmere Lake to the east. In the era of the Alliance of Lordaeron, many prosperous human kingdoms—including Lordaeron, Dalaran, and Alterac—rose along its shores and surrounding mountains. The lake likely took its name from the nearby capital city of Lordaeron, itself named after the legendary Lordain. It serves as a natural boundary between the Forsaken territories of Tirisfal Glades and Silverpine Forest, and the contested Alterac Mountains. At its center lie the Dawning Isles and Fenris Isle, the latter now overrun by Scourge agents and contested by the Forsaken. Once a source of fish and fresh water, the lake is now tainted by undead corruption. Fenris Isle still holds the ruined Fenris Keep, and Dalaran can be found along the southern shore. Bordering five regions, Lordamere offers significant but underused potential for transportation and strategic control.
