Description

Pyrewood Village is an Alliance settlement in Silverpine Forest, inhabited by humans who survived the Scourge at great cost. The villagers are cursed to transform into savage worgen each night, reverting to human form at dawn. During their transformation, they become hostile to all adventurers, regardless of faction. Despite this curse, Pyrewood still supports Alliance travelers by selling cloth, leather, and mail armor. Historically, the village was part of Gilneas before the Greymane Wall was built, and it’s suggested that Darius Crowley may have originated there. Just south of the village lies an unmarked grave. In the past, Kael'Thas and his caravan reached Pyrewood. At that time, the village was largely intact and located beside the River Arevass. During a defense against the undead, Tyrande Whisperwind fell into the river when the bridge collapsed. How the town later became a human refuge remains a mystery.
