The Thandol Span is a massive set of stone bridges connecting Khaz Modan's Wetlands with the Arathi Highlands in Lordaeron. Built by the dwarves and guarded by the Anvilmars for generations, it served as a symbol of unity and trade between Ironforge and the Wildhammer dwarves of Aerie Peak after the War of the Three Hammers. The bridges brought prosperity through commerce and were strong enough to support entire armies. During the Second War, they were used by humans to push the orcs out of Lordaeron. The Span was heavily damaged in a Dark Iron attack led by Kam Deepfury and Balgaras the Foul. One bridge was destroyed, and many dwarves died defending the remaining span and retaking Dun Modr.
The Thandol Span is a set of massive stone bridges. It is one of the greatest engineering projects ever completed by the dwarves. This massive, dwarf-made bridge stretches across the natural canal that separates Lordaeron from Khaz Modan. The Thandol Span is solid and large, a blocky stone edifice with numerous thick support columns plunging into the water. Scourge forces damaged the bridge in the Third War. Great sections broke off and now lie beneath the waves, some visible at low tides.
