Andorhal is a ruined human city in the Western Plaguelands, once part of Lordaeron’s fertile Eastweald. It served as a major agricultural hub and was the starting point of the Plague of Undeath during the Third War. Once a key city in northern Lordaeron, it fell to the undead Scourge after the kingdom’s collapse. Founded by Arathi settlers over 2,700 years before the Dark Portal, Andorhal later became a sacred site for the Church of the Holy Light. Before the plague, it was a grain distribution center. Kel'Thuzad and the Cult of the Damned used it to spread the plague via tainted grain. Prince Arthas and Jaina discovered the city's ruin and pursued Kel'Thuzad, whom Arthas killed. Later, Arthas returned as a death knight to retrieve Kel'Thuzad’s remains. Despite being held by the Silver Hand, Andorhal fell, and Uther was slain. The Scourge solidified control, and lich Araj the Summoner used the city as his base, while the Scarlet Crusade patrolled the surrounding roads.
