Hearthglen lies in northern Lordaeron, just above Andorhal, within the tainted Western Plaguelands. Once ruled by the noble Tirion Fordring from Mardenholde Keep, the town fell under Scarlet Crusade control after his exile for defending an orc, Eitrigg. During the early days of the Third War, Hearthglen became a target of the Scourge when tainted grain from Andorhal brought the Plague of Undeath. As the town unknowingly consumed the infected grain, an undead assault followed. Prince Arthas arrived in time to purge the infected and hold the line until Uther’s knights arrived. Though now under Scarlet rule, Hearthglen stands as a rare bastion that resisted the full grasp of the Scourge—ironically saved by the man who would become the Lich King. Today, it serves as a militant stronghold in the Crusade’s war against undeath.
