Description

The South Seas lie beyond the southern edges of the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, most famously seen from the shores of Stranglethorn Vale and Booty Bay. Beneath Kezan, deep in the tropics south of the Maelstrom, lies Undermine. These waters are rich with peril and mystery—home to ancient secrets, volatile civilizations like the naga, and ceaseless pirate skirmishes. Brann Bronzebeard once crossed them by gryphon, proving aerial passage is possible. Ten millennia ago, all continents were one: ancient Kalimdor. But the War of the Ancients ended with the Well of Eternity’s collapse, sundering the world and forming the Great Sea. At its heart churns the Maelstrom, marking the northern reach of the South Seas. South of it lie scattered isles—small, yet pivotal. Kezan, the largest, is goblin-run and oddly safe. Bilgewater Port links east and west. Closer to the Eastern Kingdoms lies Plunder Isle. The Bloodsail Buccaneers sail these seas, ever chasing fortune—and trouble.
