Description

Durnholde Keep is a ruined fortress in the Hillsbrad Foothills, east of Tarren Mill. After the Second War, it served as the main base for the orc internment camps. The young orc Thrall, who would later become Warchief, was imprisoned there by Lieutenant General Aedelas Blackmoore—a cruel and ambitious man who raised Thrall as a slave to gain political power. Thrall was trained, abused, and forced to fight, but formed a secret friendship with Taretha Foxton, a human girl who helped him escape. After fleeing Durnholde, Thrall freed his people, dismantled the internment system, and returned to destroy the keep. He defeated Blackmoore in combat and called upon the Earth Spirit to level the stronghold. Now, only ruins remain, and the Syndicate has taken control of the site, along with other ruins across Hillsbrad, Arathi, and the Alterac Mountains.
