Goldmask is a Tarnished scholar and staunch Golden Order fundamentalist. He predicted the guidance of Grace, and upon being beckoned by it he came to the Lands Between to contemplate the Golden Order. He does not speak, rather he communicates through gestures, the service of brother Corhyn to interpret the movements of his fingers.

Although a Golden Order fundamentalist himself, Goldmask was critical of the hunters of Those Who Live in Death, lamenting that their learnedness had been reduced to fanatical raving and an obsession with finding a great evil to contend with, a concept which he did not believe existed within the Golden Order.
