The Lands Between

Muttboy

The world of Elden Ring, a hauntingly beautiful yet desolate land of gold that is scarred from war.

Author's Note: Still have a ton of work to do -Still trying to figure out how to work casting into classes. -Slowly adding items, monsters, and NPCs -All 307 base game weapons and 171 base game spells added. added, they will still require balancing but waiting for the combat overhaul before I dig too deeply into that. See the following document for homebrew rules specific to this world. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1t7MkfUj7CvzkERJoJGxCYYEd5H6lBEml9pYQl9rHUUY/edit?usp=drivesdk

Description

Death Rite Birds are gigantic decaying birds that sport incrusted corpses over their body, partially enveloped in ghostflame, while being guarded by the spirits of the servants of death that dwell within their wings. Once revered as graveyard fire keepers, these malevolent entities are said to be the offspring of an outer god known as the twinbird, tasked with tending to the ghostflame and raking out the ashen remains of the deceased. Their ancient guardianship through the rite of Death allows priests of old to temporarily become one with the bird, manifesting as spirit beings who wield potent death ritual spears.

Actions

Ghostflame Strike

The Death Rite Bird unleashes a burst of ghostly flames in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 40 (9d8) cold damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Spirit Manifestation

The bird calls forth two spectral priests from its wings, which last for 1 minute. They can mimic the actions of the priests and attack with death ritual spears, dealing 11 (2d6 + 4) piercing damage per strike.

Wing of Desolation

The Death Rite Bird strikes with its massive wings, forcing all creatures within 15 feet to make a Strength saving throw or take 22 (4d10) bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone.
