Description

Aetherius is the mystical realm of pure magicka and divine energy, considered to be the origin of all magic in the universe of Tamriel. It is the home of the Aedra, the divines, and the source of the stars, the sun, and the magical essence that permeates all creation. Aetherius exists beyond the mortal plane of Mundus, separated by the realm of Oblivion, and is often thought of as the ultimate destination for mortal souls after death—particularly those who have lived virtuous lives or followed the guidance of the Divines. In many Tamrielic cultures and religions, Aetherius is viewed as a realm of ultimate purity and transcendence, a place where mortals can reunite with their creators or achieve enlightenment. The stars and constellations are believed to be holes in the fabric of Oblivion, through which the light and power of Aetherius flow into the mortal world.
