Helgen was a small, fortified village nestled in the southern mountains of Falkreath Hold, serving as an important waypoint between Skyrim and Cyrodiil. Once known for its sturdy timber buildings and scenic views, the village is now a desolate ruin. Helgen’s destruction marked the resurgence of dragons in Tamriel, with the first recorded attack in centuries laying waste to the settlement. The attack left the village in shambles, with its once-vibrant streets now littered with scorched debris and broken stone. Charred remains of homes and the central keep stand as grim reminders of the dragon’s fiery breath. The cries of its survivors have long since faded, and the area is now eerily silent, save for the distant howl of the wind through the ruined structures.
