Sprawling across the eastern reaches of the Pale, just west of Windhelm, Lake Yorgrim is a wide, frozen expanse of water bordered by pine forests, jagged rocks, and rolling snow-covered hills. Its icy surface glitters beneath Skyrim’s cold skies, broken occasionally by patches of open water, drifting ice floes, and the distant silhouettes of horkers basking along the shore. Though serene in appearance, the lake hides dangers beneath its still surface—predators lurking in the shallows and cold so bitter it can claim the unprepared. Scattered fishing shacks and shipwrecks around the lake hint at both its bounty and its peril, and some say ancient ruins lie sunken beneath the ice, forgotten by time. Lake Yorgrim is a place of beauty, silence, and quiet menace—where the frost is eternal, and the stillness may be hiding far more than snow and ice.
