Esme is calm, guarded, and highly discreet. She runs The Wandering Stag with efficiency and doesn't tolerate any nonsense within her walls. Though she’s not overly warm or chatty, Esme is respected for her fairness and her ability to keep the inn running smoothly, even when dealing with the shadier types who frequent it. She knows much about what happens in Chorrol, but Esme is careful about what she says and to whom—if something needs to be kept secret, she’s the one to trust. Beneath her serious demeanor, there’s a dry sense of humor that only those close to her occasionally see.

Esme grew up in a small village near Wayrest, where she learned the basics of running a household and managing people from her parents, who owned a small tavern. However, seeking more independence and adventure, Esme left home and worked as a barmaid in various cities before eventually settling in Chorrol. Years of dealing with rough patrons and handling difficult situations shaped her into a capable and unflappable innkeeper. Esme purchased The Wandering Stag a decade ago and turned it into a quiet, low-profile establishment that caters to a particular clientele—those who value their privacy and prefer to avoid the more popular inns. Rumors swirl that Esme has connections with smugglers and mercenaries, though nothing has ever been proven. She doesn’t ask questions of her patrons, and in return, they don’t pry into her business.
