Velerius is a tall, broad-shouldered Imperial standing at 6'2", with short-cropped black hair flecked with gray. His rugged face bears several scars from years of battle, and his sharp brown eyes are always scanning his surroundings. He typically wears a mix of leather and steel armor, even when off duty, and his signature sword, a finely crafted longsword, is always at his side. Despite his hardened appearance, Velerius has a calm, authoritative presence, commanding respect from his men with both his experience and quiet charisma.

Velerius is a pragmatic and disciplined leader, but he’s not without a sense of humor. He cares deeply for his mercenary group, treating them like an extended family, and is fiercely protective of his men. Though he’s in the business of selling his sword to the highest bidder, Velerius has a strong moral compass, avoiding jobs that would harm the innocent or undermine the stability of Chorrol. His loyalty is to his group first, but he values honor in the work they do, often seeking contracts that align with his personal code of ethics.

Born into a family of modest means in the Imperial City, Velerius joined the Imperial Legion in his youth, where he learned the art of warfare. Disillusioned by the rigid politics of the Empire, he left the Legion to form his own mercenary group, Hawkwood Company, building a reputation for skill, loyalty, and fairness in their work.
