The Elder Scrolls: Tamriel

J
Jefferson

Tamriel is set in The Elder Scrolls universe. Start Date: 17th of Last Seed in the year 4E 201

Author's Note: The map is massive and is very laggy when fullscreened. So naturally I only have a city and a village pretty fleshed out. Other than that it's a blank canvas with ALL the major cities and villages placed in their canonical locations. All game-playable races and spells have been added by hand. As the beastfolk say, "May your road lead you to warm sands"

appearance
Verandis is a slender, slightly hunched Breton standing at 5'7", with a weathered face marked by years spent in study and little sunlight. His short gray hair is neatly combed, and his small, round spectacles rest low on his nose, giving him a scholarly appearance. His deep blue eyes often have a distant, contemplative look. He wears simple robes of dark brown and green, befitting a scholar rather than a merchant, with ink stains often dotting the cuffs from long hours spent writing or cataloging his collection.
personality
Verandis is a quiet, thoughtful man who speaks slowly and deliberately, often lost in his books and research. He is deeply passionate about history, lore, and the magical texts he has collected over the years, and enjoys discussing them with those who share his interests. Though polite and well-mannered, he can come across as absent-minded or aloof, especially when distracted by his studies. He prefers the company of books over people but welcomes visitors to his shop with a gentle smile, eager to share his knowledge and rare finds. Verandis values knowledge above all else, believing it to be the key to understanding the world and oneself.
backstory
Born in Wayrest, Verandis was a scholar long before he became a shopkeeper. He studied at various magical and historical institutions throughout High Rock and Cyrodiil, focusing on ancient texts, history, and magic theory. After traveling extensively in his youth, he eventually settled in Chorrol, where he opened Renoit’s Books to house his growing collection of tomes, scrolls, and manuscripts. The shop is now a gathering place for scholars, mages, and adventurers seeking knowledge or rare books. Verandis maintains a deep connection with the Mages Guild and has been known to procure rare texts for them on occasion. Though he spends most of his time in his shop, Verandis occasionally helps adventurers by sharing his vast knowledge of Tamrielic history and ancient magic. His shop is filled with dusty shelves, creaking floorboards, and the faint smell of parchment and ink—a perfect haven for lovers of knowledge.
