backstory
Verner is a Nord miner who co-founded Darkwater Crossing with his wife, Annekke Crag-Jumper, after she discovered the Goldenrock Mine. He is deeply rooted in his community and often worries about the safety of his family, especially with Annekke's adventurous nature and their daughter Sylgja's independent spirit. Verner's practical approach to life is shaped by his experiences in the mines, where he has spent most of his life working hard to provide for his family and the settlement.
