Bolfrida's ambition often leads her to explore unconventional farming methods, such as attempting to grow corn in permafrost by plowing the soil with fire salts—a plan met with caution by her more pragmatic employee. Her determination to succeed in the face of adversity underscores her commitment to her farm and her community.
