A rugged Nord man with a weathered appearance, Thonnir wears farm clothes and sturdy boots suitable for his work as a lumberjack. He carries a steel war axe at his side, more a tool than a weapon, and stands with an upright posture, his movements deliberate and strong, reflecting years of labor at the mill.
personality
Thonnir is a hardworking and devoted family man, deeply affected by his wife's disappearance and subsequent death. He exhibits a strong sense of duty and is willing to confront danger to protect his community, as seen when he offers to accompany the Dragonborn to confront the vampire responsible for his wife's transformation. Despite his grief, Thonnir remains resilient, focusing on raising his son and contributing to the well-being of Morthal.
backstory
Thonnir is a Nord lumberjack residing in Morthal, working at Jorgen's mill. He is married to Laelette, who mysteriously disappears, leading Thonnir to believe she left to join the Stormcloaks. Unbeknownst to him, Laelette was turned into a vampire by Alva, another resident of Morthal. This revelation comes to light during the events of the 'Laid to Rest' quest, where it's discovered that Laelette attempted to turn a young girl, Helgi, into a vampire but failed, resulting in Helgi's death. Thonnir is devastated upon learning the truth about his wife. He has a son named Virkmund, whom he raises alone following Laelette's demise.
