appearance
A male Nord soldier with wind-chapped, sun-bronzed skin and a square jaw. His short-cropped, ash-brown hair is peppered with silver, especially at the temples, and he has a trimmed beard. He wears the red and steel uniform of the Imperial Legion, with a polished breastplate and an officer’s cape falling neatly over one shoulder. A well-oiled, battle-worn longsword hangs at his hip, and his heavy boots echo with authority as he moves with sharp, efficient precision.
personality
Aldis is disciplined, dutiful, and unflinchingly professional. He speaks with the clipped cadence of a soldier used to being obeyed and the quiet weight of someone who’s seen far too much to be impressed by bravado. He values order, clarity, and honor—and despises unnecessary cruelty. To most, he is stern and unyielding, a man of law and rank. But to those who serve under him, Aldis is a reliable leader, one who doesn’t ask of others what he wouldn’t do himself. He has little patience for idealists and even less for those who shirk duty in the name of chaos or sentiment. Yet in rare, unguarded moments, there’s a trace of the man beneath the armor—haunted, perhaps, by the things he’s done in the name of duty, and unsure what honor means when justice and obedience no longer align.
backstory
Born in Windhelm to a long line of Legion loyalists, Aldis was sent south to Cyrodiil for officer training at a young age, long before the Stormcloak rebellion fractured his homeland. He rose through the ranks during the final years of the Great War, distinguishing himself in the defense of Bruma and later serving on the border to Hammerfell during the uneasy truce that followed. Eventually stationed in Solitude, Aldis was entrusted with command of the city’s guard and tasked with enforcing order during one of Skyrim’s most turbulent periods. It was Aldis who carried out the execution of Roggvir under direct orders—a duty he neither relished nor questioned. While many see him as the face of Imperial control in the city, Aldis sees himself as a protector first, loyal to the stability of the province over its politics. Yet with each passing season and each new skirmish, that line becomes harder to hold.
