appearance
A serene and dignified Nord woman in her early forties, Freir has a fair complexion with soft features and a gentle beauty. Her ash-blonde hair is tied in a modest braid that circles her head like a crown, adorned with a simple silver clasp etched with the symbol of Mara. Her pale sky blue eyes are calm and kind, always observing with quiet empathy. She wears priestess robes of ivory and pale gold, clean and well-kept, embroidered subtly at the hems with the sigils of each of the Eight Divines. A thin silver amulet rests over her chest, often catching the morning light as she goes about her duties. Her movements are quiet and composed, hands folded or extended in welcome, and her voice is as soothing as the breeze that passes through the Temple’s tall windows.
personality
Freir is gentle, wise, and quietly resolute. She speaks with warmth and clarity, often pausing between words as though weighing each one with care. She radiates empathy and calm, never rushing those in pain, and believes deeply in the Divines’ capacity to heal not just the body, but the soul. While her demeanor is soft, she is not naive—she sees through flattery and has learned how to guide others without pushing. She has a strong sense of duty and views her role in the temple as a calling, not a job. She is especially drawn to those who are lost or broken, offering blessings not as miracles, but as gestures of hope. Her relationship with Rorlund is one of balance—his fire to her water—and while she may not always agree with his rigidity, she respects his devotion. To many in Solitude, Freir is not just a priestess—she is a refuge.
backstory
Freir was born and raised in Solitude, the daughter of a local apothecary who taught her early on the values of patience, service, and quiet faith. Though she considered joining the ranks of healers or herbalists, her heart led her to the Temple of the Divines, where she took her vows in early adulthood. There, she met Rorlund, a devout and passionate cleric who would later rise to the rank of high priest—and eventually, her husband. While Rorlund is the more vocal and traditional of the pair, Freir has long served as the temple’s gentle soul, offering comfort, guidance, and blessings to the weary and the lost. She takes her duties seriously, from tending to the shrines to offering counsel to those troubled by war, grief, or guilt. Though she rarely speaks of politics, she quietly grieves the state of Skyrim’s divisions and prays daily for unity among its people.
