A thickset Breton man in his late thirties, with a square jaw, heavy brow, and a weathered exterior shaped by years beneath the stone. His skin is pale, always coated in a layer of gray dust from the mines, and his brown hair is kept short and uneven, often hidden beneath a soot-stained hood. His beard is patchy and rough, more a sign of neglect than fashion, and his hazel eyes are sharp but sunken, as if always squinting toward a better life that never quite arrives. He wears a coarse miner’s tunic and heavy boots caked in mud, his gloves frayed from overuse and too many close calls with jagged ore. His back is slightly stooped from the grind of labor, and he moves with the deliberate, exhausted gait of someone who’s long since stopped counting the days.

Belchimac is taciturn, grounded, and quietly observant. He speaks rarely, and when he does, it’s with a flat, gravelly voice—never unkind, but always blunt. He keeps his head down and avoids conflict, but that doesn’t mean he’s blind to what’s happening around him. He’s the type to notice what others miss, and though he rarely offers opinions, when he does, they tend to cut to the heart of the matter. His loyalty lies with those who treat him fairly, and while he doesn’t wear it on his sleeve, he holds a deep respect for Ainethach’s stubborn independence. Belchimac doesn’t believe in heroes, but he believes in doing your job and not betraying your own—and in a place like Karthwasten, that makes him more reliable than most. If trouble comes to the settlement, he won’t be the first to raise his voice… but he might be the last one still standing when the dust settles.
backstory
Belchimac was born in one of the smaller mining hamlets of the Reach and has spent most of his life moving from one pit to another in search of fair wages and steady work. Eventually, he settled in Karthwasten, drawn by Ainethach’s reputation for being a just mine-owner in a world ruled by greed. Despite the backbreaking labor, Belchimac prefers working for Ainethach over the Silver-Blood-controlled operations in Markarth, even if the pay is lean and the tensions with outside forces grow each season. He has no family of his own—either by choice or circumstance—but he’s found a quiet place in the rhythm of Karthwasten’s workday. Though his name rarely comes up in town discussions, he’s always there—silent in the background, shoulders to the rock, listening more than speaking.
