appearance
A dignified and striking Redguard woman in her early forties, with high cheekbones, rich mahogany skin, and expressive dark eyes. Her black hair is pulled into an intricate wrap adorned with silver pins. She wears finely tailored clothes in deep reds and silvers, echoing the elegant jewelry she crafts. Her hands are always moving, polishing rings or adjusting clasps, and her voice is clear and assertive, cutting through the market's clamor. A silver bracelet with a tiny family crest dangles from her wrist, symbolizing her pride in her craft and kin.
personality
Kerah is shrewd, resilient, and fiercely devoted to her family and trade. She speaks with confidence and conviction, quick to shut down rudeness and sharper still when dealing with dishonest haggling or unwanted Silver-Blood interference. She holds herself with the poise of someone who knows her worth, even if the city pretends not to. She has little patience for idealists or rebels—Cade included—and views the world through a lens of practicality sharpened by hard-earned wisdom. But beneath her firm exterior is a woman with deep love—for her husband, for her daughter, and for the dream of passing something down that isn’t just a name, but a legacy. Kerah is the iron beneath the silver of Markarth: enduring, gleaming, and unbreakable, even under pressure.
backstory
Kerah came to Markarth with Endon many years ago, drawn by the city’s demand for skilled silverworkers and the chance to build a life through honest labor. Together, they built a small but respected trade, with Endon handling the metallurgy and Kerah managing the business and design. Though business has always been modest, Kerah’s stall endures where others have folded—thanks to her savvy, her charm, and her refusal to let the Silver-Bloods bully her into debt or submission. Her greatest pride is her daughter Adara, who idolizes her and dreams of following in her footsteps. But that pride is shadowed by pain—her son Cade, once the apple of her eye, left home to join the Stormcloaks, abandoning his family and everything she’d worked to build. Though she still keeps a piece he made tucked in a lockbox, she doesn’t speak of him unless pressed.
