appearance
A slender young Breton woman in her early twenties, with pale porcelain skin and dark brown hair that she wears loose or tied back with a simple ribbon. Her expressive gray eyes carry a wary edge, and her posture is reserved, often standing just behind Bothela. She wears a muted herbalist’s robe of dusky green and gray, belted at the waist with small pouches of reagents and medical supplies, and a single silver earring dangles from her right ear.
personality
Muiri is quiet, composed, and guarded. She speaks softly and precisely, her words careful but not shy. Though she maintains a polite demeanor with customers, there’s a coldness beneath the surface—a hardened edge forged by betrayal and exile. She trusts few, depends on fewer, and carries her pain like a hidden blade. Muiri is deeply loyal to Bothela, the one person who gave her a second chance without judgment. While she still clings to fragments of hope, her view of the world is pragmatic, even cynical. Beneath her calm exterior lies a well of suppressed anger—not the kind that flares, but the kind that simmers, sharpens, and waits. She isn’t above revenge, especially where Alain Dufont is concerned. Muiri may look like a healer’s apprentice, but make no mistake—there’s steel behind those eyes. All it needs is a reason to strike.
backstory
Muiri was born in Windhelm and raised within the outer circle of the Shatter-Shield family's social reach, her closest friend being Nilsine Shatter-Shield. Her life began modestly but securely, until tragedy struck with the death of Nilsine’s sister, Friga—killed by the infamous “Butcher of Windhelm.” In the wake of grief, Muiri found comfort in Alain Dufont, a charismatic outsider who seemed to understand her pain. But Alain’s affection was a ruse—he used Muiri to gain access to the Shatter-Shield home and rob them of their family weapon, Aegisbane, vanishing and leaving Muiri to take the blame. Branded a traitor and cast out by the people she once called family, Muiri fled Windhelm and nearly starved on the road before finding refuge in Markarth. There, Bothela took her in—not just as an apprentice, but as something closer to a daughter. Though Muiri has gained skill and stability as Bothela’s assistant at The Hag’s Cure, the wound of betrayal still burns.
